A former captain with the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, convicted in March of crimes associated with the groping of a teenage girl, has been arrested for violating conditions of his probation.

The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office confirmed the arrest of Frank A. Huggins, but did not have details on the circumstances surrounding the arrest.

Huggins, 76, was arrested Tuesday, April 30 at 5:15 p.m. by the Georgia Department of Community Supervision and charged with felony probation violation.

Huggins had been convicted in March on charges of felony assault by a teacher and misdemeanor sexual battery. A 16-year-old girl, who was taking driving lessons from Huggins at Lanier Technical College in Cumming, accused of Huggins of groping her on several occasions in 2016. He was sentenced in March to 10 years probation and ordered to register as a sex offender.

Huggins served as Public Information Officer for the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office from 2001 to 2010.
