The torrential rains seen in the southeast on Friday and Saturday not only led to headaches for motorists on the roadways, but it also put the kibosh on races and events at area speedways.

Up the road in Williamston, South Carolina, the Southeast Super Truck Series event scheduled for Anderson Motor Speedway on Saturday night was a wash. Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia was slated to host the Summit Series Points Series, but the rain and flooding in the Banks Crossing area led officials to cancel the event. Check AtlantaDragway.com for schedule updates.
Georgia’s Senoia Raceway also saw their 50th anniversary schedule affected by the rainfall, as the weather caused track officials to cancel Saturday’s planned event. Winder-Barrow Speedway in Winder, Georgia held out as long as they could, but when a torrential shower passed over the track just after noon, officials had to throw in the towel and call the event a wash. The Schaffer’s Oil Spring Nationals Series was washed out from a two-day weekend of racing in Georgia, beginning on Friday night at Blue Ridge Motorsports Park and on Saturday night at Toccoa Raceway. Tennessee’s historic Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway was slated to finally open the 2019 season, but wet weather again won out.
