Hall County Planning Commissioners were scheduled to vote last Monday on new plans for a large development near Braselton, only to have the developer ask it to be tabled.
Reveille Development Partners, LLC is looking to amend conditions of the property, which is already zoned for Planned Residential Development and Planned Commercial Development. The 508 acres of land are on the east side of Old Winder Highway at the corner of Howington Road.
The property was rezoned for the project in August 2016, but the site has yet to be developed. Steve Gilliam spoke on behalf of Reveille at the planning commission meeting, asking commissioners to table the request until May 20.
"There's been requests from some neighborhood groups in that area to meet with the applicant to talk about it, and so we've agreed to do that," Gilliam said.
Planning commissioners voted unanimously to table the item.
The amendments would allow Reveille to build less commercial space and more residential space on the project than originally planned. The plans that were approved in 2016 were for more than 1,200 residential units, 350,000-square-feet of retail space, 482,000-square-feet of office space and a 20,000-square-foot convention center.
The Hall County Planning Commission's meeting on May 20 will be at 5:15 p.m. at the Hall County Government Center on Browns Bridge Road in Gainesville.
