Update: Three candidates sign up for Flowery Branch special election, qualifying ends

On the first day of qualifying for a special election for Flowery Branch City Council, two candidates completed paperwork. Then on Tuesday, a third candidate tossed her hat into the ring.

Flowery Branch City Clerk Melissa McCain confirmed Ed Asbridge and Chip McCallum qualified on Monday, April 15 for the post left vacant by the resignation of Mary Jones in December. Melissa Brooks filed her qualifying paperwork on Tuesday, April 16. 

The qualifying period for the special election ran through 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The special election for the remainder of the term is June 18, 2019.
