ATHENS — The 11th-ranked Georgia men’s golf team will kick off its April schedule by playing this weekend in the Clemson Invitational.

The Clemson Invitational will take place Friday through Sunday at The Cliffs at Keowee Falls in Salem, S.C.

The Bulldogs will use a lineup of juniors Trevor Phillips and Spencer Ralston, sophomore Davis Thompson, and freshmen Will Kahlstorf and Trent Phillips. This quintet has won twice this spring, taking the Puerto Rico Classic in February and the Linger Longer Invitational in March.

Trent Phillips leads the SEC with a scoring average of 69.05, while Ralston is No. 4 at 69.87.

Joining the Bulldogs and host Clemson in the tournament will be Army, Boston College, College of Charleston, Connecticut, Duke, Elon, Furman, Georgia Tech, Louisiana Tech, UNC-Wilmington, Virginia, Western Carolina, and Wofford.

Following the Clemson Invitational, Georgia will host the Southern Intercollegiates on Monday, April 15, at Athens Country Club. The Bulldogs then will participate in the Southeastern Conference Championship April 24-28 on St. Simons Island.

“This is an important month for us,” Georgia head coach Chris Haack said. “We’re playing with a lot of confidence and we have some momentum right now, but we need to keep it going during April. The next two tournaments will be our springboards into the postseason. We’re excited about the competition and the course we will see at Clemson. It’s going to be challenging, and we’re looking forward to that opportunity.”
