WINDER — Pedro Santos scored two goals and Bryan Lopez had one to lead the Class 6A fifth-ranked Gainesville boys soccer team over Winder-Barrow, 3-0, Friday night on the road.
The win leaves the Red Elephants (12-2, 7-2) at the top of the Region 8-6A standings.
Armando Hernandez added to his assist season total dishing out three against the Bulldoggs. He has 12 assists on the season.
The Red Elephants were solid on defense led by Jorge Vasquez, Alejandro Balbaneda, Jose Rodriguez and Elvis Bonilla.
Eduardo Bautista had two key saves in goal to help the Red Elephants seal the shutout win.

CLARKE CENTRAL 0
It took overtime for the Lady Knights to win the Region 8-5A battle over Clarke Central Friday night.
Carla Avalos scored late in the overtime period to give the Knights (7-6, 4-1) the win. Eva Lesutis assisted on the winning goal.
Johnson is second in the region standings behind Buford. The Wolves clinched the region title last week.
Keeper Grace Yancey and the Johnson defense held Clarke Central scoreless in a 1-0 victory. Carla Avalos scored late in overtime assisted by Eva Lesutis.
