Water outage prompts Boil Water Advisory for many Clarkesville customers

CLARKESVILLE – A water outage on Ga. 115 West in Clarkesville due to repair of a water main break Wednesday morning resulted in low to no water pressure from Clarkesville Elementary out Ga. 115 and to a portion of Ga. 17.

“Customers from Clarkesville Elementary to the end of the line out Highway 115 and Highway 17 currently are out of water as our crews work to repair the main,” said Julie Poole of the City of Clarkesville.

Once service is restored, a Boil Water Advisory is in effect until further notice for areas affected by the water outage, including Ga. 17 to Eagles Nest and the area of Rennie Hames Road.

All Clarkesville customers affected by low water pressure or a service outage should bring all water to be used for consumption to a rolling boil for three minutes until further notice.
