Donald McIntosh kicked off Dixie Speedway’s Golden Anniversary season with a victory in Saturday night’s Southeastern Classic Super Late Model feature at the Woodstock, Georgia raceway.
The Dawsonville, Georgia racer pocketed $5,000 with the win, and added a coveted Southeastern Classic trophy to his resume.
Tyler Millwood qualified on the pole and immediately took the point for the first 20 laps of the Super Late Model feature. Millwood raced into lapped traffic, allowing Shane Clanton to close in and threaten for the lead. When Millwood was unable to get under a lapped car in turn one, Clanton moved to the high side in an attempt to pass.
Behind them was McIntosh, who raced into the fray, coming away with the lead coming off of the second turn. From there, McIntosh drove away for the victory.
Clanton held on to finish in second place, with Horton bypassing Millwood to finish in third. Cla Knight finished in fifth.
Cass Fowler, Jason Croft, Brent Dixon, Mike McConnell and Dalton Polston rounded out the top ten.
In other action, Matthew Turner made it a big night for Dawsonville drivers. Turner was flagged in second, but was awarded the win after the apparent winner failed post race inspection. This moved Ahnna Parkhurst to second, Don Jenkins to third, Payton Freeman to fourth and Jake Rainey to fifth.
Dale Thurman led wire-to-wire for the Steelhead Late Model feature victory. Oliver Gentry was closing on the leader, but ran out of time and had to settle for second. Landon Bagby finished in third, with Scottie Pritchett in fourth and Tyler Hurst in fifth.
Jonathan Martin claimed the 602 Sportsman win as he led Daniel Brewer to the finish. Alan Brewer finished third, followed by Nick May in fourth and David Burtz in fifth.
Jeremy Williams scored his first career win as he held several challenges to take the Economy Bomber feature victory. Justin Begley followed in second with Dylan Armstrong third, Billy Dean fourth and John Davis fifth.
Kenny Clark Jumped into the lead of the Street Stinger feature from his fourth starting spot on lap one and never looked back en route to the win. Casey Creighton, Rick Ricks, James Drummond and Shawn Harper rounded out the top five.
