CHS teacher resigns amid allegation of inappropriate communications with a student.

A Chestatee High School math teacher has resigned from his position amid accusations of inappropriate communications with a student.

The Hall County School Board unanimously accepted the resignation of Taylor Guthrie at its Monday evening meeting.

Guthrie is accused of having inappropriate electronic communications with a student. A press release from the school district did not  offer any details on the nature of the communications.

Guthrie, who was hired by the district in August 2017, had been suspended from any duties at the school since last Wednesday, March 13.

The school board said in the press release parents of CHS students were alerted of Guthrie's resignation and the system is now working with Hall County Sheriff’s Office investigators regarding the accusations.

At this time, Guthrie has not been criminally charged.
