Baseball: North Hall completes sweep of GAC; GHS drops 2nd straight

NORCROSS — North Hall completed a three-game sweep of Greater Atlanta Christian in Region 7-3A with a 4-1 victory Friday at Spartans Sports Complex.

Jackson Dyer had a big day at the plate and on the hill for the Trojans (6-7, 5-1 Region 7-3A). Dyer scattered four hits and allowed  one run over 3 2/3 innings. He also collected three hits and an RBI for the offense.

Wes Tadman earned the save tossing 3 1/3 innings in relief. Tadman did not surrender a hit, walked two, and struck out one.

Jake Johnson took the loss for GAC (6-6-1, 2-4) giving up two runs one hit in 3 1/3 innings.

North Hall scored single runs in the third, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings. GAC got its only run in the fourth as the Spartans trimmed the Trojans' lead to 2-1. But they could get no closer.

Zach Warwick and Tate A Brooks each had a hit and RBI for North Hall.

GAC is off next week from region action while Noth Hall opens a three-game series with Cherokee Bluff (8-4, 4-1) at Jody Davis Field on Monday. The Bears will complete a three-game series with Dawson County on Saturday in Dawsonville.

 

NORTH OCONEE 10,
GAINESVILLE 3

North Oconee used a 7-run third inning to pull away for a win over the Red Elephants for a second consecutive day, this time at Cool Ray Field.

Gainesville (5-8) never led and trailed 9-1 before getting on the board in the fourth. The Red Elephants managed just fve hits and Ben Still had the lone RBI.

Grady Vardeman took the loss for Gainesville allowing seven runs on eight hits in three innings.

Dalton Kyle had two hits and Jahleel Rivas-Dicks and Harris Bell each had one hit for the Red Elephants.

Gainesville will open its Region 8-6A schedule on Monday against Lanier in Sugar Hill in the first of a three-game series.
