OAKWOOD — White County held off a fifth-inning rally to knock off Johnson, 6-3, Thursday afternoon on the road.
The Warriors took a quick 2-0 lead in the first then extended it to 4-0 before Johnson found some offense in the bottom of the fifth inning.
The Knights scored three runs off a James Lancaster and Dante Root single, giving Johnson some momentum.
White County, however, scored two insurance runs in the top of the seventh – Austin Payne stole home and Jake Johnson doubled to score Riley Higgins.
White’s Blake Kelley tossed five winning innings, giving up three runs on eight hits and five strikeouts.
The Warriors (5-5) will host West Hall Friday at 5:55 p.m. Johnson (1-9) will host Clarke Central Wednesday at 5:55 p.m.

The Red Elephants offense sputtered in a loss against North Oconee Thursday on the road.
The Titans scored 11 runs in four innings to force the mercy rule in the fifth inning.
Dom Hughes pitched five innings, allowing two hits while striking out six for the Titans.
Gainesville (5-7) will play North Oconee at Coolray Field on Friday. Game time is 5:55 p.m.
