Auburn man jailed in Hall County for sending graphic sexual photos over the internet

By B.J. Williams

After a month-long investigation, Hall County Sheriff's Office investigators arrested an Auburn, Ga. man on a felony charge of electronic enticement of a minor.

Lt. Scott Ware said Stewart Myles Mitchell, 33, was arrested Tuesday, March 12 at a location in the 500 block of Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville.

"He had communications via computers and other electronic devices with someone he knew to be a minor," Ware said. "The communications were very sexual in nature. During the communications, Mr. Mitchell sent images of himself in various stages of undress."

Ware said Mitchell also asked for sexually explicit images from the minor in return.

Investigators went to Mitchell's home in Auburn on Tuesday to execute a search warrant.

"They seized a computer, as well as other items," Ware said. "There is the potential for more charges based on the analysis of the evidence gathered yesterday."

Ware said Mitchell is employed in Gainesville.

As of Wednesday morning, Mitchell remained in the Hall County Jail.
