OAKWOOD — Both the Gainesville boys and girls golf teams hold slim leads after the first day of the Hall County Championships Monday at the Chicopee Woods Golf Course.
The Lady Red Elephants shot a 131 but the North Hall girls sit just one-shot back at 132. The Lady Trojans' Mikayla Dubnik held the individual lead after the opening 9-holes shooting an even-par 36. Defending individual Hall County champion Karina Collins is tied for second after firing a 43.
For the boys, Gainesville holds the lead after the first round after posting a 154. West Hall is in second place after shooting a 166.
Nearly a dozen players are within four shots of the lead after the opening 9-holes.
The tournament will resume on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Chicopee Woods.
