JEFFERSON – This one was a bit easy for the Jefferson baseball team Tuesday night at home.
The Dragons banged out 15 runs in four innings to mercy rule Monroe Area, 15-0, to remain unbeaten.
Lane Watkins pitched four flawless innings of one-hit baseball, striking out six and walking one. Watkins also was 2-for-2 at the plate with four RBI. Zac Corbin was 3-for-3 with 1 RBI.
The Dragons jumped out to an 8-0 lead after two and added seven more runs through the next two innings, three in the third and four in the fourth.
Jefferson (6-0, 1-0 Region 8-3A) will travel to Monroe Area Thursday for a doubleheader.
MADISON COUNTY 8
HABERSHAM CENTRAL 6
The Raiders had one good inning, then the bats went cold the rest of the game, falling to Madison County in extra innings at home.
They hammered out five runs in the bottom of the second inning to take a 5-3 lead over Madison County, but Madison rallied in the sixth and seventh innings to send the game into extra innings.
Madison scored a run on a passed ball and an error in the eighth inning to go ahead, 8-6.
The Raiders ended the game in a double play.
Colby Jones was 1-for-4 with three RBI to lead the Raiders. Christian King and Alex McFarlane also drove in a run.
Habersham (7-2) will host Chestatee Wednesday at 5:55 p.m.

JACKSON COUNTY 5
East Jackson held off Jackson County in the seventh inning pick up the one-run win Tuesday night at home in Region 8-3A action.
Halton Hardy picked up the win for the Eagles, going 6 2/3 innings, giving up two earned runs and six strikeouts.
Jackson's Jared Adams went five innings, giving up four earned runs and striking out nine.
After falling behind in the first inning, 2-0, Jackson County's Evan Giroux scored on a passed ball to give the Panthers a 3-2 lead in the top of the fourth inning. The Panthers scored three runs in the inning.
East Jackson, however, tied the game in the bottom of the inning off a Brayden Redding single to centerfield that scored Ben Pierce.
The Eagles tacked two more runs on the board in the fifth, off a passed ball and error to take a 6-4 advantage after five.
Bryce Beverly doubled in the top of the seventh for Jackson County, scoring Trever Murphy. Jackson finished the inning on a strikeout.
East Jackson (5-2, 1-0 Region 8-3A) will travel to Jackson County on Friday. Game time is 5 p.m.
COMMERCE 12
ELBERT COUNTY 9
Commerce rallied twice to beat Elbert County on the road Tuesday night.
The Tigers led 4-2 going into the bottom of the third when Elbert County exploded for five runs and a 7-4 advantage.
An inning later, the Tigers added three runs, tying the game 7-7, but Elbert answered in the bottom to take back the lead 9-7.
In the sixth, the Tigers' bats came alive again, ripping off five runs. Elbert walked Chandler Martin home, then Tucker Maloch doubled to left field, scoring Kody Mintz.
Commerce scored its final two runs of the sixth off an error - Gray Holbrook and Kane Goldman both scored to give the Tigers a 12-9 lead.
Maloch picked up the win, going five innings, striking out four.
The Tigers (5-2) will host Walnut Grove Friday. Game time is 5:55 p.m.
UNION COUNTY 8
WEST HALL 7
The Spartans five-run seventh inning wasn't enough in a loss to Union County on the road.
West Hall scored five runs in the seventh to take a 7-6 lead, but Union answered on a two-run, two-out rally in the bottom of the seventh.
Union's John Mancuso singled to left field scoring Isaak Mullinack for the winning run.
Mancuso and Mullinack were 2-for-4 at the plate for the Panthers. Austin Garrison drove in three runs on a 1-for-3 plate performance.
Cayden Rich picked up the win for the Panthers.
For the Spartans, Tyler Maynard was 2-for-3 at the plate with three RBI and Nick Slum was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
West Hall (6-2) will host Lakeview Wednesday at 5:55 p.m.
