“Winter Thaw” set to open Senoia Raceway on Saturday

With the calendar moving into March, it’s time for race tracks across the state to start waking up from their long winter’s nap.

Senoia Raceway in Senoia, Georgia is scheduled to kick off its 50th anniversary season on Saturday, March 2, as the track hosts the inaugural Winter Thaw at the 3/8 dirt raceway.

The event will feature racing in the Limited Late Model, Crate Late Model, Late Model Sportsman, Charger, Hobby, Bomber, Mini and Hot Shot divisions. The following week, March 9, will see the track officially open the 2019 racing season, with the first points-paying race slated for April 13.

Other notable racing dates include the 4th annual Spring Nationals on March 30, the Southern All Stars Series on May 18, the track’s 50th anniversary Birthday Party night on June 8, featuring vintage cars and a driver reunion, the 22nd annual Michael Head, Jr. Memorial on June 22, the Billy Clanton Classic on July 20th, the USCA Winged Spring Cars on August 17, among others.

Senoia Raceway’s 2019 season is slated to close with the Sportsman Southeastern Nationals on October 19.
