When Gainesville boys coach Chuck Graham called Makius Scott's number last week against Cambridge, he went off – in a good way.
The 6-foot-5, 285-pound junior forward scored a career-high 19 points and ripped down 11 boards to help the Red Elephants to double overtime win and a berth in the quarterfinals.
Although Scott doesn't put up double-digit points on a regular basis, Graham said Scott knows his role on the team. As far as rebounding, that comes easy for the junior.
Scott's play against Cambridge last week has earned him this week’s Conditioned Air Systems Athlete of the Week.
We had a chance to catch up with Scott and Graham on Monday to talk about his play, the team's success this year and what to expect from Tucker in the quarterfinals this week.
