Gwinnett County blood drive held today in memory of fallen officer

The Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office is honoring a fallen officer with an American Red Cross blood drive at the headquarters building in Lawrenceville Tuesday, Feb. 26.

A post on the GCSO Facebook page said the blood drive is positive way to memorialize Officer Antwan Toney.

"Our community remembers all too well the horrific day last October when Gwinnett County Police Officer Antwan Toney was shot and killed in the line of duty," the post reads. "We're hosting a blood drive in his memory and invite you to help us honor his sacrifice by donating blood on February 26th from 12 pm - 6 pm at GCSO Headquarters at 2900 University Parkway in Lawrenceville."

Donors are asked to make an appointment to donate either online or by phone.
