LaGRANGE — The Piedmont College men's basketball team concluded its 2018-19 campaign with an 87-74 loss at LaGrange on Saturday afternoon.

The Lions (5-20, 4-14 USA South) were unable to overcome a slow start as the Panthers (17-8, 13-5 USA South) established a double-digit lead and never looked back, despite a 42-point second half from Piedmont.

Playing his final collegiate game, TAYLOR MILLS scored 21 points and found the bottom of the net three times from long range. Freshman guard JUSTIN QUICK scored a career-high 16 points and grabbed six rebounds. JORDAN FOOTE was the only other Lion in double figures, scoring 10 points to go with six boards.

The Lions began the first half strong, with the game tied at 19 apiece midway through the period. However, the Panthers outscored PC, 25-13, over the remainder of the half to take a 44-32 lead into the locker room.

After Piedmont cut its deficit to 51-42 early in the second half, a quick 9-1 run by LaGrange pushed PC's deficit back to 17.

The Lions battled back to cut their deficit to just four points with just under two minutes to play, but the Panthers answered once again by closing out the contest on an 11-2 scoring run.

The Lions conclude the season at 5-20 with four of those wins coming in conference play.
