*Young Harris College recently awarded its first bass fishing scholarships to Mason McCoy from Mount Paran Christian School in Kennesaw and Marshall Harrelson from Tallulah Falls School in Tallulah Falls. The college's bass fishing team will begin competing as an official athletic team for the school in the 2019 – 2020 academic year.

*Gwinnett Medical Center – Lawrenceville's Intensive Care Unit has received a Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. This award provides three levels of recognition, with GMC-Lawerenceville receiving the silver level as a sixth-time recipient.
*Centennial Arts Academy Reading Bowl Team won second place in the North Regional Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Competition earlier this month and will now compete in the divisional Reading Bowl March 2. The first place team from the divisional competition will advance to the State Reading Bowl to be held on March 30 at the University of Georgia.
