Mother Nature put a damper on several SpeedWeeks racing events on Sunday, leading to cancellations and postponements.
The Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series was slated to compete at Bubba Raceway Park in Ocala, Florida, but the wet weather led to the cancellation of the event. The series returns to action on March 15 at Ohio’s Atomic Speedway. Visit LucasDirt.com for more information.
The NASCAR K&N East Series season opener at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna, Florida was also washed out. The event was moved to Monday evening. For more information, visit NewSmyrnaSpeedway.org.
Rains also washed out Sunday night’s World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car finale as a part of the DIRTcar Nationals at Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida. The cancellation gave Daryn Pittman his third event championship.
Action in the DIRTcar Nationals continues with the DIRTcar Late Models and the UMP Modifieds in action on Monday. Visit DIRTcarNationals.com for more information.
