More than 200 guests attended the 2019 Night to Shine event at Hopewell Baptist Church in Gainesville, one of 655 such events across the world.
Night to Shine was introduced five years ago by The Tim Tebow Foundation as a prom event for special needs students and adults. All events are scheduled for the same night.
A volunteer at Hopewell Baptist Church, which is located on Poplar Springs Road, estimated there were 500 volunteers who helped with the activities of the event - dinner, dancing, karaoke, hair and makeup, shoe shines and formal photos to commemorate the night.
The guests took limo rides to the red carpet in front of the church and each guest was crowned king or queen as they arrived.
