*The Sautee Nacoochee Center's WinterFest Arts & Coach Tour 2020 is planned Feb. 15-16.  More information is available at www.winterfestartstour.org.

*Toccoa Falls College will soon offer a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Leadership. The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges notified TFC earlier this year of the approval of the new program, which will launch in the fall of 2020.  This program is entirely online and does not require students to come to campus.

*Forsyth County Fire Department Technical Services Division Chief Jason Shivers has been awarded the National Certification of Executive Fire Officer by the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

*Kate Maine of Gainesville has been named vice-president of university relations at the University of North Georgia, according to the University of Georgia Institute of Higher Education.   Maine, a UGA alumna, joined UNG in 2008 and has served as chief of staff since 2017.

*Dean Scarborough, Chairman, Stephens County Commission has been selected Council Member of the Year by the Georgia Mountains Regional Commission.   Charles Cawthon, City Manager, City of Lavonia, was chosen Appointed Official of the Year, and Liz Ordiales, Mayor, City of Hiawassee, is this year’s Elected Official of the Year.
