Girls basketball: Chestatee beats Leeds, Ala.; Lakeview rolls past Oconee; Buford beats GHS

PANAMA CITY, FLA — Logan Wiggins scored 12 points and Maggie McNair had 10 to lead the Chestatee girls past Leeds, Ala., 41-26,  Saturday in the Panama City Beach Bash.

Bowen Corley and Danielle Bull added 7 points each. The War Eagles (6-6, 2-3 Region 7-4A) will play Lakeview on Friday in the first round of the Lanierland Tournament at East Hall High School.


LAKEVIEW 53,
OCONEE COUNTY 39

The Lions sprinted out to a 28-13 halftime lead to set the pace for the win over Oconee on Saturday in the Lakeview Invitational.

Eliza Snyder was on fire with a double-double performance, scoring 31 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Joelee Synder added 9 points, and Maddy Towles pulled down 10 boards and netted 7 points. Jackie Allen chipped in 4 points with 9 assists and 5 rebounds. 

Oconee County outscored the Lions 19-14 in the third quarter to close the gap to 10 points, 42-32.

Lakeview (8-4) will play East Hall on Friday in the first round of the Lanierland Tournament at East Hall. 


BUFORD 68,
GAINESVILLE 25

Buford led Gainesville 38-9 at the half and 58-13 after three to blow out the Red Elephants at Buford Arena on Saturday.

The Wolves had 15 players score with Tate Walters leading the way with 13 points. Sara Viti added 10 points and Tatum Ozment chipped in 8.

The Wolves (12-0) will travel to Walnut Grove on Jan. 3.
