Construction partners with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) will implement single lane closures along Interstate 985 (I-985) this week for continued work on the Exit 14 Interchange Overpass Bridge (Martin Road Bridge).
According to Spokeswoman Katie Strickland, crews will utilize the closures in order to remove wooden scaffolding from the structure and nighttime closures will occur on both the northbound and southbound sides of I-985.
"On Tuesday, December 3, closures will occur on I-985 Southbound from Mundy Mill Road until the Exit 14 Interchange Overpass Bridge between 7:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m.," Strickland said.
Additional closures will occur on Wednesday and Thursday (December 4 and 5), on I-985 Northbound from South Springs Road until the Exit 14 Interchange Overpass Bridge between 8:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m.
Drivers are advised to drive carefully through the work zone.
