Buford looks for 1st title shot since 2016 on Jacobs Media airwaves

By Jeff Hart Sports Reporter

Buford is the only northeast Georgia area team left standing as the Georgia High School Association football playoffs move into the semifinal round.

The Wolves will take on Region 4-5A champion Jones County on Friday night with a chance to advance to the Class 5A championship game next week at Georgia State Stadium. And the Jacobs Media family of stations on will offer up the sumpreme matchup on air, and streaming.

You can hear the Wolves and the Greyhounds showdown on WDUN AM 550. No. 5 Buford (12-1) rallied for 10 fourth quarter points, including a field goal by Hayden Olsen as time expired, to beat No. 1 Carrollton 24-21  last week in the qquarterfinals. Meanwhile, Jones County (12-1) scored 35 third quarter points en route to a 49-14 win over Griffin last week. Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. at Greyhound Field in Gray, Ga.
