Georgia Mountains YMCA raising money for new programs

By AccessWDUN Staff

The Gainesville-based Georgia Mountains YMCA hopes its first-ever participation in Giving Tuesday will generate funds it can use for new programs next year.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement, which will be held Dec. 3.

Some of the programs the Y hopes to help fund through Giving Tuesday include a mentor program with middle school students, a cancer survivorship program, and expansion of its school swim lessons that teach elementary students how to stay safe around water.

The Georgia Mountains YMCA’s #GivingTuesday initiative can be found through the agency's website www.gamountainsymca.org/giving-tuesday/
