GAINESVILLE — Despite putting up 417 total yards of offense, Riverside couldn't stop the Commerce rushing attack, falling 52-21 at Maginnis Field on Friday.
Sam Roach and Tyelon Brock combined for 203 yards to lead the Tigers' ground game that churned out 478 yards.
Riverside quarterback Dylan Spinks tossed 201 yards and connected with Adriel Clark for 170 yards on the night. The loss likely dashes any hopes of a Class A-Private playoff berth for the Eagles.
Shad Dabney scored two of the three Riverside touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, and Kayman Jeffley grabbed the Eagle's final score on a 12-yard pass.
Dabney gave the Eagles their only lead, 7-0, on the first drive of the game when he darted in from 1-yard out to cap an 80-yard drive with 9:27 to left.
Commerce reeled off 45 unanswered points on runs by Josh Frates (2 TDs), Nate Ray, Daniel Wilson (53-yard run) and a 30-yard Eryk Diaz field goal.
The Tigers led 35-7 at the half.
In the second half, Frates (2-yard run) and Michale Sherman (9-yard run) tacked on two more scores.
Roach finished with 102 yards and Brock had 101. Wilson added four carries for 98 yards.
