*Gainesville's Lakewood Baptist will salute veterans in the 9:30 and 11:00 services Sunday.  Veterans who attend either of the services will be recognized.

*Chick-fil-A Commerce will mark its 20th anniversary, Nov. 14 with a celebration from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The celebration will include games, cake, giveaways and more.

*Peach State Federal Credit Union has created a $3,000 scholarship to assist students at Toccoa Falls College who are pursuing a degree in the field of Teacher Education. One student in the School of Teacher Education will be awarded the $500 scholarship each semester for the next three years.

*Registration is underway for the 10th Annual Turkey Trot at Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville.  The 5K, 10K, and Half-Marathon each begin at 8:00 Thanksgiving morning.  For more details and registration, click here.

*Young Harris College has a number of events scheduled the remainder of November at its O. Wayne Rollins Planetarium and the public is invited.  Detailed information can be found at yhc.edu.

*The Georgia Mountains Regional Commission Career Coach will visit the Goodwill Job Fair in Oakwood on Nov. 12 from 11:00 AM – 1 PM.  Experts will be on hand to help job-seekers search for and apply for jobs, write resumes and cover letters, discern their career interests, and learn about funding available for training.  This is a free service.

*Jackson Electric Membership Corporation has awarded Gainesville Middle School teacher Dory Moore a Bright Ideas grant to be utilized for her classroom.  Moore, who teaches music and chorus, received $1,034 to purchase ukuleles for her music class.

*The Greater Hall Chamber of Commerce’s annual Eggs & Issues Legislative Forum will be held December 12 at 7:30 a.m. at Lanier Technical College.   For Online Reservations click here.
