Work will prevent school bus from traveling Banks County road Wednesday

The Banks County Commissioners Office wants residents of Riverbend Road Southeast, located off Duncan Road, to be aware that access to their homes may be limited due to culvert replacement during the day Wednesday.

“Parents with children that ride the Banks County school buses should be prepared to make alternate plans for picking up your children from school as the road may not be passable for the bus,” said spokeswoman Jenni Gailey.

Banks County Road Department is making needed and vital repairs to a culvert that extends the full width of the road.

Those repairs will take place from 9 a.m. until completed Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019. The road will reopen before nightfall.

The road department was just made aware of the needed repair, Gailey said. The contractor is available to perform the work Wednesday, which is the reason for the short notice.

One lane or all lanes of the road may be impassable during the day Wednesday, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.

The road department and contractor will make all efforts to make the road passable should residents and emergency services need to gain access, Gailey said.
