Gainesville City Schools recognizes Enota students at Monday meeting

101 students were celebrated at Enota Elementary Monday night during the recognition portion of the Gainesville City School Board meeting for advancing their performance on the ACCESS and Milestones tests.

60 fifth grade students moved up one performance level on the Georgia Milestones test in one of more subjects from last spring's Milestone test. Enota Principal Wesley Roach sweetened the deal with a challenge and encouraged his students with a big prize: a $100 bill. Students who made the improvement had their names entered for a randomly selected winner.

41 students improved their performance on the ACCESS test last spring and improved one performance band or more.

Roach said during recognition that they specifically chose to highlight their scholastic achievers while the board held their meeting at Enota.
