Body found in Winder pond Wednesday

A body found floating in a pond in Winder Wednesday has been sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab for an autopsy.
 
A tip notified the Barrow County Sheriff's Office of the possible body in a pond off Booth Circle, according to a press release from Major Ryan Sears. Sears said they were able to confirm it was a deceased person and contact the GBI.
 
The GBI will determine the person's identity and cause of death and Sears said the incident is still under investigation. The Sheriff's Office will not release any further information until the autopsy is complete.
