Police look for suspect who damaged Buford car dealership

By Joy Holmes Multimedia Journalist

Gwinnett County Police need help identifying a suspect who broke into the Mini Cooper Dealership on Buford Drive last week.

Police said the suspect caused significant damage to the building by smashing a glass window with a propane tank to enter the building. Once inside, the suspect could be seen on video surveillance smashing the glass door of the sales manager's office, where he then searched several drawers. According to the police report, the suspect did not take anything, but left fingerprints, which could provide a lead to his identity.

John Secondo, the sales manager, told police that he recognized the suspect from a visit to the dealership the previous Thursday. According to the police report, the suspect said that he was a jeweler from Buckhead, and that his wife liked the Mercedes parked at the top of the lot. Secondo told police that the suspect would not give him his name or driver's license, and he seemed nervous while shaking his hand.

The suspect appears to be a black male, bald, and driving what looks like a silver Mercedes.

If you have any information on the matter, contact the Gwinnett County Police Department at 770-513-5300.
