*Helen Perry was named as one of only 20 "Top Gun" Work-Based Learning Coordinators in the state by the Georgia Department of Education at the 2018 Georgia Work Based Learning/Youth Apprenticeship Fall Conference.  Perry serves as the WBL Coordinator for Gainesville High School.

*Northeast Georgia Medical Center plans public discussions about the prevention and treatment of joint pain, hosted by its Orthopedic Services.  The sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 10, at NGMC Gainesville, and Tuesday, Oct. 23, at NGMC Braselton. Registration and a light sandwich supper start at 5:30 p.m., with the forum beginning at 6 p.m.  The seminars are free, but registration is required. *Enota Elementary School will celebrate "Walk to School Day" Wednesday, Oct. 3.   Participating teachers, parents, and students will gather at 7:00 a.m. at Green's Grocery on Ronnie Green Parkway in Gainesville and walk to the Junior Service League Lodge (formerly the Elks Lodge).

*The Hall County Republican Party will hold its grand opening for its new headquarters Tuesday, October 2, from 5:30pm - 7:00pm.
