DEMOREST — The Piedmont women's volleyball team swept Agnes Scott College in the home opener Wednesday night 3-0. The win gives Piedmont a 3-1 record in league games and pushes the Lady Lions over .500 on the season.
Piedmont took the first set 25-21 after overcoming an early 12-9 deficit. The Scotties made a comeback at the end after Piedmont earned set point 24-18, but would drop the first set on a service error.
The second set saw Piedmont race out to a 14-3 lead and hold the Scotties to just a single kill in the set. The Lady Lions claimed the second set 25-13 and it was a similar story in the third set 25-14.
Piedmont held the Scotties to 13 kills in the match and a negative attack percentage. JENNA WENDEL accounted for 24 of Piedmont's 32 assists while every player who saw the court earned at least one dig.
