The opening race of the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs for the 2018 season is in the books, and it was one to remember, as Brad Keselowski raced to this third victory in a row.
This week's Hard Left Turn podcast looks at all of the happenings from Sunday's South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, including:
-Brad Keselowski is on a tear. After seeming to be a little off the pace earlier in the season, Keselowski - and the entire Team Penske organization - appears to be hitting their stride, as the No. 2 Ford drove to a third straight victory of the season. He also locks himself into the next round of the playoffs. Brandon and Pete discuss where this run came from, and why you should never count out car owner Roger Penske.
-Las Vegas was not expected to be a brutal a race as it was, but with a high attrition race, and bad luck for several Playoff drivers, it had more of a feel of a Martinsville or Darlington than a 1.5 mile tri-oval.
-It was a bad day for several Playoff drivers. Brandon and Pete discuss who is okay moving forward, and who may be sweating going into Richmond and Charlotte.
-Furniture Row Racing team owner Barney Visser spoke in an interview about some of the things that led to the decision to shutter the team at the end of 2018. That, along with the ongoing Silly Season, makes for some interesting discussions.
-We close the show out with a look at this weekend's Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series race at Richmond Raceway.
