Softball: Gainesville rallies past Chestatee

GAINESVILLE — Gainesville rallied from an early deficit to beat Chestatee 4-3 Wednesday in non-region girls softball action.

Chestatee led 3-0 after the second inning but the Lady Red Elephnts scored two runs in the fifth and two more in sixth to take the lead.

They held off the Lady War Eagles in the bottom of the seventh for the victory.

Chestatee's Beth Eddins took the loss going the distance allowing just two earned runs and fanning 13 in seven innings. The strikeouts helped Eddins hit the 300 career strikeouts mark for the Lady War Eagles.
