FAQ: Gainesville says folks have lots of questions about the Dragon Boat event

By AccessWDUN Staff

Now that the start date for the Dragon Boat World Championships is officially here, the city of Gainesville has been fielding lots of questions from folks who want to watch, but don't know much about the event.

Nikki Perry, the Communications and Tourism Director for the city of Gainesville said the top three questions her office have received this week are:

  • What do I do about parking?
  • Can I watch from my boat?
  • Can I buy food at the event?

Perry said while admission to the event is free, people will need to buy a parking pass. The $10 pass for vehicles can be paid at the gate or the parking passes can be purchase online.

People are welcome to watch from boats on the water near Lake Lanier Olympic Park, but Perry said there is no place for boats to dock.

Perry said there are plenty of food and drinks options for purchase at the event site.
