Rezoning request for New Holland development goes back before Gainesville planning board in Sept.

A developer who wants to build a multi-use development in the New Holland area will ask the Gainesville Planning and Appeals Board to again consider an annexation request for the project.
 
Limestone Greenway LLC had been scheduled to present its application to the planning board on May 8, but then the developer suddenly withdrew the request before it could be considered.
 
Now, the application is on the planning board agenda for Sept. 11, 2018. 
 
The property in question is a 75.12-acre tract of land on Jesse Jewell Parkway at Limestone Parkway in the Limestone Parkway Overlay Zone in Hall County. The applicant wants to annex the property in order to use city sewer services for the project.
 
"The proposal is the same as originally requested for 189,400 square feet of commercial space, 252 multi-family residential units and 33 single-family homes," said City Planning Manager Matt Tate in an email. 
 
Documents from the city planning office indicate the developer wants to build a single access road from Limestone Parkway to serve the commercial and multi-family uses. In addition, two access drives are proposed off of Limestone Parkway and Jesse Jewell Parkway to serve a commercial outparcel lot.  Also, one access road is proposed off of Lakeview Drive to serve the proposed single-family homes. 
 
In addition to the Limestone Greenway LLC request, the city planning board will also review a request from KRM 2016 LLC to allow for the construction of five duplex apartments on a .82-acre tract of property at 520 Washington Street just west of West Academy Street.
 
The Sept. 11 meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Gainesville Public Safety Building on Queen City Parkway in Gainesville.
