John Delaney has been hired as the associate vice president and dean of students on the University of North Georgia's Dahlonega Campus, effective Aug. 6.
James Conneely, vice president of student affairs at UNG, announced the hiring.
"Dr. Delaney is an experienced educator and administrator with a demonstrated commitment to building successful, student-centered programs and services that fully support comprehensive student success," Conneely said.
"I look forward to serving on an active, vibrant campus where colleagues are passionate about helping students succeed in every way possible," Delaney said. "I look forward to learning more about the Dahlonega Campus and how my past experiences can support services and programs that contribute in significant ways to comprehensive student success, in and outside of the formal classroom setting."With the fall semester slated to begin Aug. 20, Delaney said he is eager to get to know UNG students, work with student leaders and support the student body.
Most recently, Delany served as vice chancellor of student engagement and student development at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
Delaney succeeds Alyson Paul, who is now the associate vice president and dean of students for the Gainesville Campus.
