Hancock drives to Super Pro victory at Atlanta Dragway

Jeremy Hancock scored a hometown victory on Saturday at Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia.

The Commerce native edged out Michael Bruce to score the win in the Super Pro final in Summit ET Series drag racing action.

Hancock ran a 4.502 ET on his 4.48 dial in at 150.00 MPH & a 0.008 reaction in his Chevy Dragster to Bruce’s a 4.926 ET on his 4.90 dial in at 140.05 MPH & a 0.012 reaction.

Other winners on the day included Matt Ward in Pro, John Snapp in Sportsman, Ryan Blanton in Jr Street, Malachi Edwards in 6-9 Jr Dragsters, Hayden Wilson in 10-12 Jr Dragsters and Jesse Long in 13-17 Jr Dragsters.

Drivers also took time to honor Super Pro division driver Ricki Blackwell, who passed away on July 23 after a long battle with cancer. Both Hancock and Ward dedicated their victories to his memory. After the final race of the day, Blackwell’s grandson make a memorial pass in his Jr. Dragster.
