The Union County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday released details of what it calls the largest methamphetamine seizure in the area.
“On July 10, Union County Narcotics Division along with Criminal Investigation Division served a search warrant at a Blairsville address resulting in the seizure of six kilos of crystal meth with a street value of $600,000, along with several thousand dollars,” according to a release by Union County S.O.
Six kilos is more than 13 lbs.
The investigation began in June, when the sheriff’s office received information that a woman was selling methamphetamine out of a house in the county.
Three arrests were made in connection with the case.
- Janice Ann Hall, 46, of Blairsville, was charged with trafficking methamphetamine and three counts of sale of meth. She is jailed with no bond set.
- Troy Allen Hall, 43, of Tennessee is charged with trafficking meth and remains jailed with no bond.
- Melinda Ann Smallen, 54, of Tennessee is charged with trafficking and remains jailed with no bond.
Investigator Drew Stewart led the investigation that Union County officials say is the largest meth seizure and arrest in the area.
Sheriff Mack Mason praised the efforts of the Narcotics Division, adding, “Do not come to Union County to sell drugs.”
