A Dahlonega man is dead and a woman is facing charges in connection to a head-on collision that happened early Friday morning near Dahlonega.
Margaret Elizabeth Riches, 26, of Dahlonega was headed north on Ga. 9 near Pink Dogwood Lane when she allegedly crossed the center line, and hit an on-coming Hyundai Sonata with her Toyota Camry, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
The crash was reported at 5:25 a.m.
The driver of the Sonata, Joseph Angelo Chiero, 56, was partially ejected when the vehicle overturned. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Riches suffered non-life threatening injuries, and was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment.
She's been charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and failure to maintain lane.
A third driver, Brandon Roscoe Nix, 36, of Dahlonega was also involved, as his Chevy Cruz struck several large pieces of debris from the wreck. Nix was uninjured.
