By B.J. Williams

A woman from New York remained in the Hall County Jail Friday after she kicked the rear window out of a patrol car and injured a Hall County Sheriff's Office deputy.

Sheriff's Lt. Scott Ware said Marissa Marie Diana, 23, was arrested around 10 p.m. on July 4 at an address on Lanier Islands Parkway.

"[She] was acting disorderly and was intoxicated in a public environment," Ware said.

As a result, she was placed under arrest for public drunkenness.

"Once inside the patrol car, she kicked the rear window out of the patrol car and then subsequently, she kicked one of the deputies in the face," Ware said.

He said the deputy should be okay.

Diana was charged with public drunkenness, felony obstruction and interference with government property, according to Ware. Bond was been set at $5,700 for the obstruction charge, $5,700 for interference with government property and $130 for public drunkenness. Ware said Diana had not posted bond as of Friday morning.
