Mitchell drives to first ULTIMATE SLM win at County Line

By Series PR

ELM CITY, N.C. - Dustin Mitchell made the most of a slip by Gary Dillon on lap 29 of Saturday night’s ULTIMATE Super Late Model feature at County Line Raceway in Elm City, North Carolina.

Mitchell went on to lead the final 11 laps of the feature, scoring his first series win. The Pine Level, North Carolina driver also pocketed a cool $4,000 payday.

Dillon grabbed the lead on the initial start with Michael Batten in tow. Outside pole sitter Kyle Hardy appeared to spin his tires on the start, causing him to slip back to fourth on lap one. Dillon ran relatively unchallenged for the first 27 laps, through several cautions. But when a caution flew on lap 28, Mitchell had positioned himself in the second spot.

When the green appeared Mitchell stayed close to the leader and when Dillon pushed up entering turn one, Mitchell swept by.

From there, Dillon drove away to the win. Justin Williams finished in second, with Daulton Wilson in third, Joey Coulter in fourth and Batten in fifth.

Zack Mitchell, Kyle Hardy, Dennis Franklin, Michael Rouse and Dillon rounded out the top ten.

The Ultimate Super Late Model Series is scheduled to be back in action on Saturday, July 28 at Dixie Speedway located in Woodstock. For more info, visit UltimateSupers.com.
