Atlanta United heads to FC Dallas

ATLANTA — Atlanta United returns to action on Wednesday when it travels to face FC Dallas at Toyota Stadium.

Atlanta enters the match atop the Supporters’ Shield Standings (11-3-4, 37 points) while Dallas sits in second in the Western Conference (9-2-5, 32 points). The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8 p.m. EST and will be televised on FOX Sports South.

Atlanta is coming off a 4-0 win against Orlando City SC on June 30 in front of the world’s largest soccer crowd of the day (71,932) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Miguel Almirón scored twice for his sixth career multi-goal game, Josef Martinez scored his league-leading 15th goal of the season and fellow Designated Player Ezequiel Barco added his fourth goal of the season in the second half. Brad Guzan made three saves to post his fifth clean sheet of the season.

FC Dallas defeated Minnesota United 1-0 at TCF Bank Stadium on June 29, as Roland Lamah headed in a Santiago Mosquera corner kick in the 59th minute. Dallas is unbeaten at home this season through nine games (5-0-4) and has allowed the second-fewest goals in MLS this season with 17.
