Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center (NGMC) recently was named a 2018 Hospice Honors Elite recipient, a top national recognition.
Hospice Honors is a prestigious program that recognizes hospices providing the highest level of quality as measured from the caregiver’s point of view, according to a press statement from the medical center.
“This recognition is truly a source of pride for our community,” said Cathy Wozniak, executive director of Hospice of NGMC. “I am so proud of what our staff has achieved to ensure our community has access to high-quality end-of-life care.”
Hospice of NGMC was selected for the Hospice Elite award as a result of its performance on the Hospice Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems survey for the past year. Per regulations, hospices must contract with one of the analytic data vendors approved by Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). These vendors send post-care surveys to family members and caregivers, so they can evaluate their hospice experience. In order to qualify as a recipient of the award, a hospice must score above the national average on all of the quality indicators.
“Hospice of NGMC has served 13 counties across the region for 32 years now, and our caregivers are there to provide relief – so you and your loved ones can cherish life’s most sacred moments,” Wozniak said.
