Family dog injures Banks County toddler

HOMER — Banks County officials on Friday released details of an incident that left a 3-year-old Homer girl injured after she was attacked by the family dog earlier this week.

The little girl, whose name is not being released, suffered multiple bite marks and lacerations to her face and hands in the incident on Ga. 198, Homer, at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 19, according to Banks County Fire/EMS Chief Steve Nichols. The child was treated and taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston, where she was listed in stable condition at last check.

The Banks County Code Enforcement Officer is investigating the incident and the animal, according to Nichols.

The incident was concluded at 7:23 p.m., according to Nichols. No one else was hurt.
