The new Director of Communications for Forsyth County Government is Karen Shields, who will join the county staff July 9.
Shields will oversee county publications, media relations, county social media pages and internal communications.
According to a news release from the county, she brings to the position more than 20 years of professional experience in the field of communications. Most recently, she served as the communications manager and public information officer for the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources.
