Lawson named to Peach State Bank's Community Development Board

Former Gainesville Mayor Emily Dunlap “Sissy” Lawson has been named to Peach State Bank and Trust's Community Development Board, according to an announcement by the board’s chairman, Abit Massey.

A Gainesville native, Lawson was the first female member of the Gainesville City Council, serving on the council for 18 years.  She was also the city's first woman mayor, serving two terms in that capacity.

Lawson has served on numerous local and statewide non-profit boards, including Elachee Nature Science Center, the Quinlan Visual Arts Center, Habitat for Humanity, Georgia Women of Distinction, Friends of the Park, Gateway, and the Arts Council.
