Cops on Donut Shops event set for Friday morning in Gainesville

By AccessWDUN Staff

As part of a fundraising event with Dunkin Donuts, the Gainesville Police Department will be participating in the 3rd Annual Cops on Donut Shops Friday morning, June 1.

Officers will be raising money for the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia, according to press information released by the department.

From 7-11 a.m., anyone can get a free donut with a beverage purchase at the three Dunkin Donuts locations in Hall County. Citizens are asked to make a donation to Special Olympics in return.

In addition to raising money for Special Olympics, the event gives officers an opportunity for positive interaction with the community. In 2017, Cops on Donut Shops raised more than $78,000 for Georgia's Special Olympics athletes.

The three Hall County locations participating in the 2018 Cops on Donut Shops event are:

  • 3629 Mundy Mill Road (Oakwood)
  • 504 Queen City Parkway (Gainesville)
  • 1191 Thompson Bridge Road (Gainesville)
